KOREATECH GKS-UIC 2027 · Application deadline 23 Oct 18:00 KST
IELTS 5.5 in 25 days
A teaching workspace for one number, on one document, in a fixed window.
The two dates that decide everything
Test on or before 14 October 2026 — the score report must be in hand
days before the deadline.
23 October 2026, 18:00 KST — KOREATECH application closes. One merged PDF,
sent by email to inter@koreatech.ac.kr.
Miss the first and the second is unreachable. Everything in this workspace is subordinate to those two dates.
What this place is for
KOREATECH Computer Engineering is the only English-medium department in the whole 2027 GKS-U University Track, and it is fully funded: tuition covered, KRW 14,400,000 per year living allowance, economy airfare, settlement allowance. Its entry bar is IELTS 5.5.
This workspace teaches toward that bar. Not toward fluency, not toward 7.0 — toward a number on a form, in 25 days, on two hours a day.
Lessons
| # | Lesson | What it settles |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | What band 5.5 actually means | What each skill is measured on, and which strategies waste the 25 days |
| 02 | The diagnostic | Which of the four skills is your bottleneck — turns a hunch into a number |
Reference
- Band 5.5 cheat sheet — the one page to keep open during drills. What each skill demands at the target score, and the specific error that costs the band.
- Question patterns — the traps by question type. The False / Not Given boundary, the four Listening audio traps, the spelling and number conventions that cost free marks, and how to sequence a Reading passage.
How this workspace works
Each lesson is one self-contained file. Read it, do the drill at the bottom, then come
back for the next one. PROGRESS.md tracks your scores across the 25 days — the
re-baseline mocks at the end of each phase only mean something if the first one was recorded
honestly.
The teaching is built on public band descriptors and official Cambridge material, not on opinion. The descriptors are the measuring instrument; guessing at your own level is the thing this workspace is designed to stop.
